Ultimately the best prevention begins at home. CYA engages parents in the community in various ways, including providing parent education and information throughout the year across numerous platforms. Attention is given to assuring collaboration with parents and our school parent organizations to ensure regular dialogue between parents and coalition leadership.

School Districts

Partnerships with all local School Districts to gather data with various surveys of 7th– 12th graders help drive the coalition’s strategic planning process. The Districts also support CYA via the active participation of its administrators, staff, social workers, resource officers, and health professionals in coalition events and strategies. In addition, schools support the Youth Empowerment and Support Team (EAST) in their prevention mission.
