Local Government

Local Government, including the Mayor, City Council, and our County Commissioners, are involved at the policy level, enacting local ordinances to keep our community and our youth healthy and safe. Their support is instrumental in recognizing the value of solid prevention strategies in the community.

Law Enforcement/First Responders

Maintaining a balance between prevention and enforcement is crucial to the coalition’s success. Our partners with local law enforcement reduce underage alcohol access. In addition to responsible server training, we partner on compliance operations targeting alcohol merchants and underage buyers, which is essential in reducing underage access to alcohol. CYA youth also provide vital information to law enforcement on local “hot spots” for youth substance misuse. The expertise of first responders and what they witness in the community is vital to identifying community needs.
