Civic Organizations

As a youth-centered, community-based coalition, we emphasize service to the community. No matter how good our schools and alternative programs are, unless we acknowledge and effectively address the challenges associated with the use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs, many young people are at risk of failure. Connecting youth to their community shows promise to make a difference. Partnerships with Exchange Club, Civitan’s Club, Rotary Club, and other civic organizations hold great potential in reducing youth substance abuse.

Houses of Worship

The local houses of worship are all in full support of the CYA Coalition and its efforts. Our diverse faith traditions believe that drug and alcohol abuse can be a symptom of deep spiritual need and that religious faith can contribute to the well-being of youth and their community. Religious organizations can provide access to a variety of support groups and treatment resources.
