“Sometimes the most ordinary things could be made extraordinary, simply by doing them with the right people.”

Becky Leatham

CYA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Becky is a Certified Prevention Specialist and has spent the last 20 years in the field of youth leadership and substance abuse prevention. Living most of her life in Idaho, she is the mother to four adult children, grandma to four adorable grandchildren, and “mom’ to hundreds. Becky began her journey impacting teens many years ago as a volunteer at her children’s school and an AmeriCorps Service Member. She credits her success to great mentors early in her career and a knowledgeable and passionate group of co-workers she calls friends today. Becky is the founder and Executive Director for Community Youth in Action and is mentoring a large staff to always carry on her mission if she ever “gets hit by a bus” or chooses to retire.

Nick Chaffin

BOARD CHAIR

Nick has served various roles on the board since the fall of 2019. Before his service on the board, Nick spent his younger years volunteering as a teen member of the program. During that time, he served as a Team Leader for TRAPPED for three years and helped organize a youth lead campaign named “It’s My Future.” Through this campaign, Nick had the chance to speak in front of community and state leaders on the dangers of teen marijuana use. Nick played baseball at Idaho Falls High School and Grays Harbor Community College. Nick graduated from Idaho State University with a bachelor’s in business management and works at the Idaho National Laboratory. In his spare time, he coaches youth baseball and spends time with his wife and family.
