What to Expect
Because the last thing your family needs is uncertainty, we want to give you as much information as possible every step of the way.
After we receive your referral or phone call, we’ll contact you to schedule an appointment.
In the event of an emergency—such as a family conflict that requires a teen to stay overnight—we will meet with you right away. SPaRC is always on call.
At your appointment, our staff will complete a brief screening to determine what resources we can connect you with. Some examples include basic needs, housing support, mental health referrals, GED assistance, goal setting, and more.
Together, we’ll create a plan. Our team will follow up with you and anyone we’ve connected you with to make sure we’re moving in the right direction.
SPaRC is grant-funded, and you will never be charged for any services while you’re with us.

What is SPaRC?
Assessment (Screening) Centers are here to support youth and families by helping identify what’s really going on behind challenges at home, school, or in the community.
Our goal is to connect families with the right resources before problems grow—keeping youth on a positive path and reducing the need for involvement with the justice or child welfare systems.
Anyone can reach out for support. Youth may come to us through their school, after an arrest, by referral from parents or caregivers, or through community partners.
Our team takes time to listen and understand each family’s unique situation through caring conversations and trusted screening tools. Together, we identify strengths, uncover barriers, and find services and resources that help youth and families thrive.
When needed, we also work with schools, community programs, and local agencies to make sure families receive well-rounded, coordinated care.
